The conviction axis
Eight sectors. One descent.
Ordered by how much company you have, not by size. At the top everything is visible and priced daily. Each band below has less consensus to borrow and demands a longer hold — until there is none left, and no exit calendar either. Scroll to descend.
Applied Intelligence
Systems that reason over operational data and return decisions, not dashboards.
The Ministry of Finance named AI and semiconductors priority FDI sectors for 2026. Whatever discount existed here is gone.
Capital Markets
Direct and structured positions held on a horizon measured in decades.
FTSE Russell reclassifies Vietnam to Secondary Emerging on 21 September 2026, with passive inclusion phased into 2027 on a published schedule.
Energy Transition
Generation, storage and grid assets underwriting Southeast Asian demand growth.
Revised PDP8 allocates USD 136.3bn to 2030. Only USD 18.1bn of that is transmission, and transmission is the constraint.
Health Systems
Clinical infrastructure and delivery models built for emerging-market density.
Analyst coverage thins sharply here. The buyers are provincial health authorities on annual budget cycles.
Digital Infrastructure
Compute, connectivity and the physical substrate the rest of the portfolio runs on.
Registered FDI ran USD 15.2bn in Q1 2026, up 42.9% year on year. Racks arrive faster than the feeders that serve them.
Agricultural Technology
Yield, traceability and supply-chain integrity across the Mekong basin.
The margin sits in the handoffs between field, cold chain and port. No single operator owns the whole run.
Real Assets
Land, logistics and mixed-use development in structurally undersupplied corridors.
On 1 July 2025 Ho Chi Minh City absorbed Binh Duong and Ba Ria-Vung Tau: 6,722 km2, 14m people, 99 seaports under one administration.
Media & Narrative
Owned channels, studio production and the distribution layer beneath them.
There is no comparable set here and no exit calendar. Positions are carried until the reason for holding them fails.
There is no floor.
Every band above this one asked for more patience and offered less company than the band before it. Past the last of them the metaphor stops working as a descent. Hold something long enough, with nobody left to agree with you, and you are not underneath anything.
That is what a permanent balance sheet buys. Not a better entry price, which anyone holding a cheque can get on a bad enough day, but the room to keep making the argument long after everyone else has stopped listening.
